New Deck Construction

A deck is a structure, not furniture. We build the frame the way an inspector would want to see it, then make it look good on top.

Site evaluation, grade and door-height check, layout staking
Concrete footings below frost line, with post bases that keep wood off concrete
Flashed and through-bolted ledger, or free-standing frame where the structure calls for it
Joist tape, blocking, and hangers specified for the span
Pressure-treated, cedar, or capped composite decking
Final grade clean-up and haul-away of the old structure

Stairs & Landings

Uneven risers are the most common thing we find on an older deck, and the most common way people get hurt on one.

Solid stringers with proper support and concrete landing pads
Graspable handrail on every flight, at the required height
Intermediate landings for tall walkouts and second-story decks

If the bones are good, you don't need a new deck. We'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.
